The term ETO is becoming a little vague in the industry recently, whether its candidates selling themselves as ETO’s or yachts contacting me requiring an ETO.
Especially with AV/IT roles becoming more popular.
One of my main questions for both yachts and candidates is what is your Electrical to AV/IT skill set split. Some are 50/50 others are 20% Electrical and 80% AV/IT but are still advertising as ETO.
The position of an ETO or AV/IT officer is developing so much with requirements changing often with more technology coming out every 5 minutes; its great!
With so much AV/IT coming into the industry will there be a CoC “like” qualification in the industry for the position in the future to help distinguish the position and candidate?
