Working within a technical team of 70-80 Engineers, we are currently recruiting for 3rd Electro Technical Officers to maintain all electronic and electrical equipment onboard in order to maximise the operational safety and efficiency of the vessel. As part of a specialist Electro Technical team of 15-20 Officers and Technicians you will be responsible for both preventative and planned maintenance to ensure continued and uninterrupted service on all electrical and electronic equipment on board our fleet of 10 modern luxury cruise ships.
As a 3rd ETO you will be expected to follow work schedules and undertake preventative and planned maintenance to ensure continued and uninterrupted service in both crew and passenger areas on all electrical and electronic equipment.
During this position you will be responsible for troubleshooting problems and completing repairs and reporting any faults for further investigation to the 2nd ETO.
Whilst actively working within the team, you will be able to increase your own knowledge on critical systems. You will be expected to supervise Cadets and Technicians to ensure tasks are undertaken safely and swiftly in accordance with all current safety and company regulations.
Alongside the technical aspects of this role, you will also enjoy the opportunity to attend social events where you will be representing the Electro Technical Team. This will involve hosting dinners, participating in Captain’s Cocktail Parties and various other social occasions.
We’re looking for an ambitious ETO with relevant experience and holding an Unlimited ETO CoC (III/6). It’s also important that you’re a fast learner as well as possessing MS Office and Computerised Maintenance System skills. As you’ll be essential to enhancing the quality of life on board, we’re also looking for a real focus on customer service.
To be considered you should hold a degree or HND in Electronic Communications, Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline. STCW Basic Training and Advanced Fire Fighting certificates would be desirable. All candidates will require a valid ENG1 medical certificate (or equivalent) for the duration of each voyage and are required to obtain a US C1/D visa.
